St. Nicholas concert
On Saturday, December 6, 2025, St. Nicholas visited the Slovak Philharmonic. Martin Vanek accompanied the children during the musical afternoon, and the Slovak Chamber Orchestra, led by artistic director Ewald Danel and young flutist Ajna Marosz, provided a varied musical program. The chamber orchestra was joined by the Old Town children's choir Sirénčatá with their choirmaster Lukáš Kunst and the Simart Ballet Studio with choreographer Simona Smutná. The main theme of the afternoon was light, which is an integral part of Advent and Christmas. Light decorations are part of the streets, shining in windows and illuminating Christmas trees. Light is somehow more present in our hearts as well. It is a symbol of goodness and joy. It brings warmth, kindness, and peace. On Saturday afternoon, we enjoyed playing with light in the Concert Hall, and the artists also brought light in the form of unforgettable musical performances.
