Accessibility Statement
This statement applies to the web application Concert Archive of the Slovak Philharmonic available at stream.filharmonia.sk. It does not apply to the main website of the Slovak Philharmonic (www.filharmonia.sk) or other web presentations of the organisation.
The Concert Archive of the Slovak Philharmonic, as part of the internet site of the Slovak Philharmonic, is operated in accordance with Act No. 95/2019 Coll. on information technologies in public administration and Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
Compliance status
The web application Concert Archive of the Slovak Philharmonic is partially compliant with the accessibility requirements set out in Act No. 95/2019 Coll. and standard STN EN 301 549 V2.1.2, i.e. WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines.
Inaccessible content
- Interviews and discussions do not contain subtitles for the deaf (we plan to add them including SK/EN translations)
- The video player (Vimeo platform) is an external component whose accessibility is beyond our control
- PDF programme notes may not be created in a fully accessible format
- Calendar widget and Timeline widget — keyboard navigation depends on external libraries
The audiovisual production department of the Slovak Philharmonic is continuously working to address these issues.
Measures taken to ensure accessibility
As part of development and regular audits (latest: 13 April 2026), the following measures have been implemented:
Structure and navigation: - Semantic HTML5 elements (header, nav, main, footer) and ARIA landmarks - Dynamic page language attribute (lang) with SK/EN switching - Correct heading hierarchy (H1 — H6) on all pages - “Skip to content” link at the beginning of every page - Current page indication in navigation (aria-current) - Consistent breadcrumb navigation with aria-label
Images and media: - Alternative text on all informative images (portraits, concert banners, gallery, recommended concerts) - Decorative images marked with empty alt attribute and aria-hidden - Automatic video subtitles in Slovak and English
Interactive elements: - Descriptive text on all links and buttons (aria-label) including theme toggle, volume and navigation arrows - Visible focus indicator on all interactive elements - Focus trap in modal windows and lightboxes with focus return to the triggering element - Photo gallery fully keyboard accessible (Enter/Space to open, arrow keys to navigate) - Lightbox with role=“dialog”, aria-modal and keyboard shortcuts (Esc, arrows) - Video player with aria-label on volume slider and progress bar - Keyboard shortcut / and Ctrl+K for quick access to search
Tabs and dynamic content: - Tab navigation with aria-selected, aria-controls and aria-labelledby - Announcing dynamic content changes to assistive technologies (aria-live regions) - Announcing error messages to screen readers (role=“alert”) - Scroll-to-top when switching tabs
Forms and security: - Form fields with aria-required and autocomplete attributes - CSRF protection on all forms - Properly associated labels (for/id)
Visual accessibility: - Colour contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text) - Dark and light mode switching respecting system preferences - Support for reduced motion mode (prefers-reduced-motion) — all animations suppressed - Responsive design for mobile devices, tablets and desktop
Help: - Tips and keyboard shortcuts page with application usage guide
