Philharmonic Nursery 2b – piano

The Philharmonic Nursery is a playful adventure in which the piano becomes the best friend of our youngest listeners. Pianists and hosts Tomáš Boroš and Ivan Šiller invite children not only to listen, but also to dance, imitate sounds, move their fingers to a poem, and experience firsthand how the piano feels–from gentle “trills” to powerful chords. Between activities, the children will also peek inside the instrument and learn how music is created.

The program combines pieces for four-hand piano by Tomáš Boroš (from the collections Tarantulky and Situácie) with gems of world literature–featuring works by Ravel, Debussy, Satie, Silvestrov, and music by Marián Varga. Through playful activities, children will become familiar with dynamics, timbres, and the secrets of piano mechanics.
