Johann Sebastian Bach, his sons and contemporaries

The charming viola da gamba and violone player Julia Karpeta and harpsichordist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Maurycy Raczyński belong to the younger generation of musicians. However, their musical activities and extraordinary disposition have already been appreciated by more than one jury and audience. Johann Sebastian Bach is one of the symbols of genius. He himself, however, drew inspiration from other experienced masters; one of them was the Frenchman Jean-Henri d'Anglebert and his meticulous systematics of keyboard ornamentation. A very strong human and professional bond bound Bach to Georg Philipp Telemann - Bach's colleague but also his godfather. Several of Bach's sons were musically talented, but only three reached the level of true professionals: Wilhelm Friedemann, Carl Philipp Emanuel and Johann Christian.
