Literárny útvar balady inšpiroval viacerých romantických skladateľov. Klavírne balady Johannesa Brahmsa, rovnako ako Fryderyka Chopina sú naratívne diela nabité emóciami i intímnou lyrikou. Balada h mol patrí medzi najskvostnejšie klavírne diela Franza Liszta, v ktorých uplatnil svoje novátorské myšlienky i oslňujúcu virtuozitu. Vznikla v tom istom roku (1853) ako jeho veľkolepá Sonáta v rovnakej tónine.
Fenomenálny americký klavirista nemecko-holandského pôvodu, Andrew von Oeyen, ktorý „vás presvedčí, že s klaviatúrou dokáže urobiť úplne čokoľvek, čo sa mu páči“, vypredáva koncertné sály po celom svete v rámci sólových recitálov i vystúpení so špičkovými orchestrami.
