Le Nuove Musiche
The ensemble Le nuove musiche, founded in 2016 and under the artistic direction of lutenist Jakub Mitrík, ranks among Europe's leading ensembles dedicated to the historically informed performance of early music. The focus of its repertoire is on works by 17th-century Italian early Baroque composers as well as their contemporaries active in eastern Slovakia (including Ján Šimrák, an organist in Spišské Podhradie, and Zachariáš Zarevúcky, who served as organist at St. Egidius Church in Bardejov for 40 years). The concert will be conducted by Jörn Hinnerk Andresen, a German early music specialist from the prestigious University of Salzburg, who regularly collaborates with the ensemble Le nuove musiche and recently performed with them in Bratislava.
The concert is supported by Gesamtkunstwerk and the SPP Foundation.
