Organ Recital III – Sítková / Verner
Organ music represents one of the most impressive chapters in the history of music. Even today, this regal instrument captivates audiences around the world and remains at the forefront of popular appeal. Works in which the organ “collaborates” with other instruments–mostly treble instruments–are also particularly appealing. There are original compositions in this vein (Georg Philipp Telemann), as well as tasteful arrangements (short pieces by Camille Saint-Saëns or Gabriel Fauré). Nevertheless, the greatest strength of the organ and organists lies in the solo works of Johann Sebastian Bach, Friedrich Antonin Wiedermann, Louis Vierne, and Petr Eben.
