Hrušovský / Bruch / Holst
Hrušovského Musica nocturna sa nesie predovšetkým vo sfére sonorizmu a svojím výrazom evokuje smútočný charakter. Max Bruch si už na začiatku kariéry sformoval svoj kompozičný ideál, nadväzujúci na Felixa Mendelssohna Bartholdyho a počas svojho života stál v tieni svojho priateľa Johannesa Brahmsa. Škótska fantázia pre husle a orchester, využívajúca folklórne intonácie, je spolu s 1. husľovým koncertom g mol jeho najznámejším dielom. Sedemčasťová orchestrálna suita Planéty, sčasti inšpirovaná astrológiou, krátko po 1. svetovej vojne preslávila Gustava Holsta, ktorého hudba ovplyvnila nasledujúcu generáciu anglických skladateľov ako Michael Tippet a Benjamin Britten, ako aj tvorcov americkej filmovej hudby.
