Organ Recital II – Anne-Gaëlle Chanon
Despite dying at a very young age, Nicolas de Grigny became a prominent figure in French organ composition. Johann Sebastian Bach also studied his works intensively. Although Alexandre Boëly did not achieve widespread popularity, his work played an important role in the development of organ music in France and was also appreciated by César Franck, a composer who devoted considerable attention to organ music. Jehan Alain was a member of the prominent Alain family of musicians. Unfortunately, he was also actively involved in military activities and was killed in battle. However, another master of French organ music, Maurice Duruflé, paid tribute to his memory.
