Debussy / Saint-Saëns / Fauré

Claude Debussy – now known as the “symbol of musical symbolism,” was a rebellious and difficult boy in his youth who rejected classical educational methods and wanted to go his own way. He ultimately succeeded, allowing him to thumb his nose at the conservatives. However, even though he was looking for new solutions, he did not abandon his French colleagues – the more academic Camille Saint-Saëns or the more visionary Gabriel Fauré. Their piano trios are therefore very similar in many ways.
